Ballerina Birthday Party for 3 Year Old Girl

Charlie Marie went through a cute ballerina phase and requested a pink ballerina party for her three year birthday. It was fun coming up with our decorations, food, and activities, and today I’m sharing them with you!

Party Tips for a 3 Year Old

Before I get into our ballerina party theme, here are a couple of tips for throwing a party for your three year old.

Party Time Length

We did a one hour party and it was perfect for that age. It was long enough for the kids to get comfortable with each other and have a fun time but short enough to keep their attention and energy at a good level. (And you may be lucky enough to not have any necessary potty breaks–or accidents.)

Number of Guests

I think having 3-4 friends over is the perfect amount. It’s enough to make it feel like there are more friends than a regular play date, but small enough that everyone can get help/attention if needed. Let’s be real… at that age, they all need help/attention for almost every activity.

Pink and Silver Decorations

Full disclosure, this was supposed to be pink and gold decorations, but Amazon sent me the wrong color scheme. (I ordered this one.) After a bit of grumbling, I got over it though and embraced the silver.

Ballerina Cupcakes

My three year old requested pink ballerina cupcakes for her party, so I delivered! 🙂 I found these adorable ballerina cupcake toppers on Amazon and they were the perfect thing to put on her strawberry cupcakes with strawberry frosting.

Ballerina Party Activities

With it only being an hour long party, there wasn’t much time for activities, but we snuck two of them in.

As people showed up for the party they got to hop up at the table and color their own ballerina picture. We printed off this page and set out a bunch of markers.

Ballet Lesson

At the beginning of the party we gave each girl a pink tutu. (My birthday girl also had on these ballet slippers she got from her grandparents for her birthday.) Then when we were ready for the ballet lesson activity, we also gave each kid a butterfly wand. (A set like this for each girl would be so cute!) We let the girls keep these as party favors.

My awesome sister-in-law came and did the mini ballet lesson. She choreographed a dance to part of the Frozen ‘Let it Go’ song and taught the kids the little routine. It was so cute watching them all dance around in their skirts and wands.

After opening a few presents, the party was over! It was short, sweet, and cute. 🙂
