When my sister was visiting last month, I made this Moist Chocolate Bundt Cake for her. Let’s just say it blew her mind. A chocolate lover, she said it was the best chocolate cake she has had. *Mic drop* My Moist Chocolate Bundt Cake recipe with cream cheese frosting was inspired by a lemon cake recipe by Little Sous Chef that a friend shared with me. They used instant pudding mix to moisten their cake, and I used the same concept in this Moist Chocolate Bundt Cake recipe. Let me just tell you…the proof is in the pudding. This cake is the best chocolate cake. And a nice perk? It’s ridiculously easy to make!

The Best Moist Chocolate Bundt Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe
Moist Chocolate Bundt Cake: Ingredients
(Quick plug for Amazon Prime Pantry… this is an easy way to make sure you don’t run out of your essentials before the next trip to the store.)
- 1 box of chocolate cake mix
- 2 packages of small chocolate instant pudding
- 1 cup sour cream
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Moist Chocolate Bundt Cake: Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease a Bundt pan. Do this by generously coating the pan with soft/melted butter or oil (making sure to get all the grooves of the pan), evenly sprinkle about 1/4 cup flour into the bottom of the pan, cover and seal the pan with plastic wrap, shake to coat the pan in flour, discard the plastic wrap, and dump out the extra flour.
- In a large bowl slowly whisk together all the ingredients until combined. Do not over mix (or you will have a dense and gummy cake).
- Pour batter into prepared Bundt pan and bake for about 50 minutes, or until inserted wooden toothpick/skewer comes out dry with a few crumbs.
- Cool cake in pan for 10 minutes, then turn over onto cooling rack and release from pan. Cool completely. (When the cake is almost cool, prepare the frosting.)
Cream Cheese Frosting: Ingredients
- 8 oz. cream cheese (room temp)
- 1/2 cup butter (room temp)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups powered sugar
- 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup (optional)
- 1-2 teaspoons milk
Cream Cheese Frosting: Directions
- Using a handheld mixer, mix cream cheese and butter in bowl until smooth.
- Pour in vanilla and slowly add powdered sugar while mixing.
- Add chocolate syrup and enough milk to reach desired consistency.
- Once cake has completely cooled, frost the cake. (I put the frosting in the bottom corner of a gallon-sized ziplock bag and snipped a small hole in the bottom for low-maintenance frosting.)
- Enjoy your Moist Chocolate Bundt Cake with chocolatey cream cheese frosting!
