You can prepare it the night before, pop it in the oven on Christmas morning, and be eating a delicious meal within 30 minutes. How-To French Toast Casserole for Christmas Breakfast

- 2 Tb. butter
- 6 c. white sandwich bread cubes
- 5 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. vanilla almond milk
- 1/4 c. white sugar (divided)
- 1/4 c. brown sugar (divided)
- Â 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- syrup
- whipped cream
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Melt butter in 9×13 baking pan. Line bottom of pan with bread cubes. In a large bowl, beat together eggs, milk, 2 tablespoons of white sugar, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, salt, and vanilla extract with a whisk for 30 seconds. Pour egg mixture over bread, making sure to soak the bread evenly. Let stand for 15 minutes.
Combine 2 tablespoons of white sugar, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle evenly over the top of the bread. Cover pan with tin foil. Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. Remove tin foil and continue to bake for 5-10 minutes until top is golden.
Remove from oven. Recover with tin foil until ready to eat. Top with syrup and whipped cream.
