Easy Hummus Dip Recipe Ingredients & Directions
Below are the ingredients you’ll need and step-by-step directions for making your own easy hummus dip recipe.
Ingredients
-
- 1 15-oz can chickpeas (aka garbanzo beans)
- 1/4 cup tahini (ground hulled sesame seeds)
-
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
-
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin
-
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
-
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Directions
First, open the can of chickpeas and drain the juice, but be sure to set it aside so you can use it for later. (Turns out this juice has a name: aquafaba! Haha who knew?!)
Place chickpeas in a food processor and mash them. (If you don’t have a food processor, try using a blender or hand mash them really well).
Put in the remaining ingredients (except for the chickpea juice) and puree the mix well, pausing to scrape the sides of the bowl as needed.
You want to achieve a creamy and spreadable texture, so add the chickpea juice if the mixture is dry until you reach the desired consistency.
Enjoy! This easy hummus dip recipe is a quick snack or spread that you’ll be coming back to again and again.
