Tips:
- Before applying any of the following DIY face mask recipes, make sure that your face and hands are clean and dry.
- To avoid getting your clothes messy, wear an old shirt or a garbage sack (cut a whole on the bottom side of the bag for your head and arm holes in the corners of the bag)
- Make sure your hair is out of the way by using hair tie and headband.
- When applying the face mask, massage it gently onto the face using circular motions.
DIY Face Mask Recipes
Avocado DIY Face Mask
Great for dry, sensitive skin and acne. Especially during the winter months, this not-too-sticky DIY face mask will nourish and revitalize your skin, boosting its moisture and giving your face a beautiful glow.
Ingredients:
1/2 ripe avocado
2 tsp plain yogurt
1 tsp honey
Directions:
In a small bowl, mash avocado with fork until smooth. Stir in yogurt and honey until combined. Apply to the face for 15 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water and patting dry.
Banana Honey DIY Face Mask
Great for dry skin and wrinkles. This DIY face mask recipe will not only make your skin look more youthful, it hydrates and moisturizes your skin without making it oily.
Ingredients:
1 ripe banana
1 tsp honey
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp plain yogurt
Directions:
Using a fork, mash banana in a small bowl until there are no lumps. Combine honey, lemon juice, and yogurt, stirring well. Apply the face mask thickly onto the face and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.
Oatmeal Honey DIY Face Mask
Great for sensitive, oily skin and acne. The almonds help to exfoliate the skin while the oatmeal helps remove excess oil from the pores of the skin. This DIY face mask will leave you with a beautiful, healthy appearance.
Ingredients:
1 packet or serving of plain instant oatmeal
2 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp finely chopped almonds
Directions:
In a small bowl, cook oatmeal per instructions on container. While oatmeal is still hot, stir in honey and almonds. Allow to cool completely before applying generously to the face. Leave face mask on for 15 minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water and patting dry.
