Below is a simple menu for a party. Something salty and savory, something sweet, and something sour.

Churro cupcakes
Lime Margaritas (I made pink limeade virgin margaritas for the non-alcohol drinkers)
If you’re having a dinner party, here is the same simple menu but with some main entrees added.
DINNER PARTY MENU
Tortilla chips with salsa, guacamole, and/or seven layer bean dip
Chicken fajitas with flour tortillas
Beef enchiladas
Churro cupcakes
Lime Margaritas (I made pink limeade virgin margaritas for the non-alcohol drinker
Decorations
For a color scheme you can go with the traditional Mexican flag colors of green, white, and red, or you can throw in some fun, bright colors. At my Cinco de Mayo party, I went the colorful route. Here are some decoration ideas:
- Make a DIY ribbon banner with fun colors
- Have brightly colored flowers for a table centerpiece
- Hang a “Fiesta” banner or “Happy Cinco de Mayo” banner over the food table
- Use a colorful tablecloth and spread confetti around the table
