The last few years at Halloween have been so fun! I love that Halloween gives me an excuse to do themed food and see the excitement (and sometimes disgust haha… you’ll see) on my kids’ faces. I made sure to take pictures of last year’s feast to give you ideas of what to do this year. Keep reading for our spooky Halloween dinner menu ideas!

Witch Hair Pasta
For the main dish of your spooky Halloween dinner, whip up some witch hair pasta (black bean pasta) with witch eyeballs (meatballs), blood (marinara sauce), snot (pesto sauce), and dandruff (parmesan cheese).
The kids thought it was so fun and gross eating witch blood and snot haha. Way better than regular marinara and pesto sauce 😉
For the spaghetti noodles, I used black bean pasta. (I found some at my local Harmon’s grocery store.) They were super quick (faster even than regular pasta) and easy to make.
The meatballs were a huge hit! I didn’t want to attempt making meatballs from scratch with everything else I was making for the dinner, so I got ready-to-bake meatballs (the same kind I used in this recipe–this time not sponsored by them they’re just so tasty!) and stuck in a sliced olive to make it look like an eyeball. After a quick bake they were ready to go!
Spooky Salad
Serve up a side of spooky salad, complete with little Halloween details. Mine had ghosts (white cheddar cheese), pumpkins (carrots), and fingernails (sliced almonds).
Sharp cheddar cheese is an easy favorite here in our house, so I bought pre-sliced sharp white cheddar cheese to make it easier on myself and then cut out little ghost shapes and stuck a straw through the cheese to make the eye holes.
To make the carrot pumpkins, I sliced a large carrot and quickly cut into it for the stem and then rounded out the “pumpkin.” Pair this salad with whatever dressing your family likes best.
Dragon Eyes
Needing a spooky appetizer? Make some easy-but-impressive deviled eggs (this recipe shares how to make them) and just add some green food coloring to the yolk mixture and some olive slices on top to turn them into dragon eyes. I also like to add a little sprinkle of paprika to mine to give them a little more flavor and a slight kick.
Ghost Grub Fruit Salad
For another cute and spooky side dish, serve a ghost grub fruit salad. This one is as easy as it gets. I just diced cantaloupe and mixed it together with these pre-prepared marshmallows. (To make the ghosts, I melted a few chocolate chips in the microwave and used the end of a chopstick to put the eyes and mouth on each marshmallow.)
I would have added more fruit to this fruit salad, but I ran out of time. Maybe this next Halloween we’ll add some kiwi slices, green grapes, honeydew, and/or yogurt to make it a little more intricate.
Pumpkin Patch Cookies
For a fun build-it-yourself dessert, serve pumpkin sugar cookies, orange frosting, and candy corn. Everyone can have fun creating their own pumpkin.
