Whether you’re going to an extended family gathering, to a neighborhood party, or having a family picnic, this little treat will be a crowd-pleaser for the kids and the adults!

Fireworks are a classic part of America Fourth of July celebrations, and they are a fun part of the day for kids. Growing up I remember lying on the grass in my grandma’s front yard and staring up at the sky lit with big, beautiful, sparkling explosions. We kids would be there oohing and aahing over the biggest fireworks and talking about which kind were our favorite.

If you want to make fireworks a bigger part of the day, consider making these little firework snacks. The patriotic red, white, and blue is perfect for the occasion, and the kids will eat them up!

With 3 simple ingredients and 4 easy steps, you’ll have your very own firework show in snack form that you can chomp on while you enjoy the sky’s firework show.

You Will Need:

  • Strawberries
  • Mozzarella Cheese Sticks
  • Blueberries
  • Toothpicks

Fireworks Cheese Stick Snack Directions:

  1. Cut your strawberries into round slices and make this the bottom of your firework.
  2. Cut your cheese sticks into thirds (chunks not sticks), and then going almost the whole way down, cut/peel each chunk so the strips cascade down. (You will likely need to make some of your peels rather thin so they bend.) Stack the non peeled side on the strawberry slice.
  3. Stack a blueberry on top of the cheese and push it down slightly to help the cheese spread out.
  4. Stick a toothpick through the stack to hold everything together.
